RM Moose Jaw Controlled Burn Fire Protection

Just a reminder to contact the Saskatchewan Control Burn number @ 1-866-404-4911 or the Moose Jaw fire department @ 306-692-2792 prior to commencement of all controlled burns, otherwise, the owner of the land will be charged if the Fire Department receives a call and responds to the fire on your property.

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR IMPLEMENTING ROAD RESTRICTIONS ON MUNICIPAL ROADS
• The standard road restriction weights on Spring Road Restriction orders published by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure are as follows:
o The maximum load on steering axles is 10 kg per millimetre (560 lbs per inch) width of tire (manufacturer’s stamped dimensions), to a maximum of
1. 5,500 kg on the steering axle for a truck equipped with a single steering axle
2. 11,000 kg on the steering axle group for a truck equipped with a tandem axle steering group
o Maximum loads on all other wheels will be limited to 6.25 kg/mm (350 lbs per inch) width of tire to a maximum loading of 1650 kg per wheel (3,638 lb.)

RM of Moose Jaw will be closed Monday, March 9, 2020 for training.

RM of Moose Jaw No. 161

Due to an upcoming retirement, the Rural Municipality of Moose Jaw No. 161 is accepting applications for a seasonal Public Works position typically beginning March 1 and ending Oct. 31 each year. Applicants must have at least 3 years or more experience running a grader and possess a minimum Class 3A license (preference given to Class 1A) and have skills and experience in maintenance and operation of heavy equipment including grader, tandem gravel truck, tractor & mower, pull type scraper and Bobcat. A Power Mobile Equipment operator competency certificate would also be considered an asset to the applicant.

Assets for this position include excellent time management and communication skills combined with strong organizational and relationship skills with ratepayers, staff, and council.

Reporting to the Municipal Foreman, duties will include but are not limited to grading, trucking, mowing, loading, hauling gravel, maintaining roads, installing culverts, installing signs, servicing equipment and other duties as directed by council from time to time.

Please include desired salary or hourly wages expected along with references. The position also includes a full benefit package containing health, dental and life insurance along with a strong pension plan.

Public Notice is hereby given that Council intends to consider a Bylaw to amend the fees charged, specific to Development in the RM of Moose Jaw No. 161.

Copies of the Bylaw including the proposed changes are available for viewing at the Municipal office.

Should you have any comments on this amendment, please reply in writing by using one of the methods set out below to the Council of the Rural Municipality of Moose Jaw No. 161 prior to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7th, 2019. Writers must ensure that they identify themselves in their submissions. A public hearing on the proposal will take place on Tuesday, November 12th, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Council chambers-1410 Caribou St. W. Moose Jaw.
