Notice of Intention to Adopt a new Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw PDF Print E-mail

Notice is hereby given by the Rural Municipality of Moose Jaw No. 161, pursuant to Section 207 of The Planning and Development Act, 2007, that Council intends to adopt Bylaw No. 5-2011, the new Official Community Plan (OCP) and Bylaw No. 6-2011 the new Zoning Bylaw, in order to facilitate growth and development in a sustainable manner.

Official_Community_PlanPurpose: The new Official Community Plan (OCP) replaces the former Moose Jaw Planning District Development Plan which served as planning policy document and contains provisions that will encourage balanced growth and provide for increased flexibility in managing land use in the Municipality. It also identifies actions that the Council will be undertaking to address the changing needs of the residents and future development. In addition, it promotes inter-municipal partnerships with surrounding municipalities and along the Moose Jaw–Regina Corridor.

The Zoning Bylaw accompanying the OCP replaces the existing Zoning Bylaw and provides revised implementation options and builds on the previous land use controls by providing flexible administrative tools to balance development.

Inspection: The Proposed OCP and Zoning Bylaw may be inspected at the office of the R.M. of Moose Jaw No. 161 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday through Friday, all holidays excepted. Copies are available at cost and are also on the website at: www.moosejawrm161.ca

Public Hearing: Council will hold a public hearing to receive submissions on the proposed Bylaws at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday September 13th, 2011, in the Council Chambers of the R.M. of Moose Jaw No. 161, 170 Fairford St. West, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
