Employment Opportunity - 2010 Seasonal Utility Person

The R.M. of Moose Jaw No. 161 is seeking a Utility Person for the 2010 summer season. This is a seasonal position and will run approximately 18 to 22 weeks. Commencement date is flexible but is anticipated to be © Monday, May 10, 2010. General duties will include assisting the Public Works crew in general road maintenance, including sign installation, operation of a tractor with drawn equipment, assisting the R.M. in its Noxious Weeds program, including the spraying of roadside ditches, general asset maintenance, .... building and lot upkeep and maintenance, yard mowing, rotary-tilling and weed removal, and other duties as assigned throughout the RM – your job will entail varied and interesting duties. This position reports to, and is under the direction and guidance of, two senior public works employees.

Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License is required, and applicants are required to consent to making a current copy of their Driver’s Abstract available to the municipality at its expense. Applicants in possession of, or willing to train/study to obtain, a Pesticide Applicator’s License, will be given priority. The successful applicant who demonstrates the desirable abilities and attitude during the first season of employment may be offered further seasonal employment with the municipality.
